Luxury Hotel - Singapore

Singapore is one of the best places in the world to shop.  In this city which has one foot in Europe and the other in Asia, the Raffles Hotel is a massive, classic, grand hotel named after Sir Stanford Raffles who was the founder of modern day Singapore.

With famous guests like Noel Coward and Ernest Hemingway, the Raffles conjures up memories of a by-gone era, a colonial empire and a place of legends. Declared a National Monument in 1987, the hotel was restored and reopened in 1991.  It is reputedly the last place in Singapore where a tiger was shot, back in 1902.
